Blogstipation- n. (BLOG-steh-PAY-shun)

1. Slightly contagious and somewhat amusing to watch someone undergo times, blogstipation is the avid writer‘s worst enemy. It is that point one reaches when at the end of their creative rope, a mental morass of unappealing ideas. Synonyms include: Writer’s Block… (what you want more?). Antonyms include: Inspiration, Creative Genius, Brainstorm & Writer’s Diarrhea.

Ex. “He was at the computer for hours, face contorted with exertion, as he battled the unyielding Blogstipation.”

2. See 1.

Quotes related to Blogstipation:

โ€œEverybody walks past a thousand story ideas every day. The good writers are the ones who see five or six of them. Most people donโ€™t see any.โ€ ~ Orson Scott Card.

“Writer’s block is the greatest side effect of boredom.” Jason Zebehazy

Ladies and gentlemen I am currently experiencing this dreaded disease but should rebound within a day or two. I am currently accepting “Get Well Soon” and sympathy cards. Cheers.

Classic capt’ stuff. Make writer’s block entertaining. May your malaise be brief.

  2. Josiah, I do hope you get well soon. I’m sending over chicken soup, but since I don’t really cook very often, it’s coming in a can. I hope you don’t mind. ๐Ÿ™‚ Go out and make some adventures, have some stimulating conversations, photograph some crazy things. There’s a big world out there just waiting to be blogged about. I’m off to Austin tomorrow, then Dallas, then San Antonio. Photo workshop, wildflower photography sessions, visiting family and friends, and photographing everything in site. That will cure MY blogstipation!

    Come back soon, my friend.

  3. Eeks….I meant….”and photographing everything in SIGHT. (I hate when I do that)

  4. you need more fiber

  5. In the majority of your posts, you practice wit, and wit is ephemeral and difficult to produce. It requires grace and mental-verbal gymnastics that will appear to the reader to be effortless. Cures for writer’s block are as numerous as folk remedies for hiccups. My personal favorite is GO TAKE A WALK. Best wishes toward your speedy recovery.

  9. Aw poor you, get well soon! Curl up with a good film, a cuppa and some chocolate. Failing that, get onto Google and type “ideas for blog posts”, better than Nurofen in this case I think!
